I went to the eye doctor today because my eyes have been doing some not cool things the past few weeks. So on top of all the emotional drama I've got going on, I have iritis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iritis). And I'm a freak, apparently - because the doctor said people typically get it in one eye, and I have it in both. So I have to get two prescriptions filled tomorrow, one for steroid eye drops I have to take every hour for 2 days, and dilation drops I have to take 3x daily. They better not be as bad as the drops you get at the doctor, and I better be able to read/go on the computer or hell will be raised. Plus, I have to go get a bunch of blood tests and a chest x-ray tomorrow to figure out what's causing this. Fun times.

So I didn't get to give him his Christmas gift. Turns out he doesn't celebrate Christmas. I would at least like to have given him his cookies, because I made those for all my friends and so I didn't really spend money on him there - but he didn't call when he was on-campus today, oh well.
Didn't get to wish him a good break and get a goodbye hug thanks to our evil history test Tuesday *sigh*.

I have a new advisor now, yay! And he has office hours tomorrow, so I can get my form signed to get out of Art History *victory fanfare*
I realized yesterday that if I get all the classes that I want, and if I do an internship for The Indy, I'll have 18 credits next semester - which is what I was trying to do. Awesome.
If I'm not able to get into Photojournalism, I will cry and throw a fit. On the list of classes online it says you need JOU2100: Photography for Journalists as a prerequisite, but on the Journalism Program page it says you need either that or JOU 1100/Digital Photography I. I took Digital Imaging at Cobleskill, that better fucking count or I will be pissed as hell. Of course neither of those classes are offered this semester, and I don't want to risk Photojournalism not fitting into my schedule next year, since it's apparently only offered once a year. I will hunt down and harass whoever it takes to get me in there, if needed ^^. |

I ended up not doing bad on the few assignments I was worried about this week. I got a B- on my Traditional China midterm that I didn't study for so I'm very pleased - comments were that my writing was well done, just could have been elaborated more, which is what I expected. Also got a 75 (which equates to a B-, don't know exactly how, but hey not complaining LOL) on that insane Human Sexuality test, which was the class average. And Jonas got the same grade as me, so he's not dropping the class, yay ^^! I was also worried about my latest story for Journalism - but she gave us a chance to revise, so I looked over it with my professor after class, and she said I just had to tweak little things but it was well-done overall. I also have submitted a longer, tweaked version of this story (on the debates/presidential election) to be in The Independent this week (the school newspaper), at the request of the editor =).
So I've decided to withdraw from my Art History class. I feel kinda bad, because the professor is really nice and I do find the material interesting - but the class isn't doing anything for me, and I'm not getting as good grades as I should in two of my other classes. It'll give me more time to focus on Journalism/Traditional China, and deal with everything else I've got going on this semester. I've decided to not apply for the VA minor anymore, and there are other classes that could count for the Asian Studies minor when I apply to it.
I've also started planning my schedule for next semester - it's great and sucks at the same time. Obviously, Photojournalism is a must - that's 2:30-6:10 on Wednesday (I haaaaaate that length class with a passion thanks to Art History, but this is actually something I like ^^). I'm required to take Junior Seminar in Journalism, so that's a 2:30-6:10 on Thursday - thanks to that, I'm forced to have an 8:30 class >_<. I have to take Journalism I and II in sequence, and one of the two sections for JII is during the same time as Junior Seminar (fail). I also plan on taking Modern Chinese history from 12:30-2:10 Mon & Thurs - to get more upper-level credits and a class for the minor. So this totals to 16 credits, and I'll have Tuesday/Friday off - that's the good thing!
In random news - OMG WATCH 'THE APPLE'. Epikly awesome movie XD. The sparkles! The color! The crazy awesome choreography!

I am seriously considering changing my major to Design/Tech for Costume Design. I am getting shitty grades in my Journalism class, and for stupid little things - like misplaced punctuation. Dead-ass serious.
I don't know how to sew (yet), but I love sketching out costumes. I love putting my drawing skills to use, and coming up with something really good. People like my sketches, and someone thought I was a D/T when I was going over my Gothic Lolita costume design with Austin. And heck, my cosplaying interests being put to good use? Yes please ^^.
I have no idea if I can even get into the program, but I don't mind spending extra time here if its what I want. And designing costumes would satisfy my need to do something artsy. I should still be able to take the two classes I really wanted to take (Music Journalism, and Photojournalism) if I switch to have Journalism as my minor - and I can still get fun writing practice in the Indy.

I have officially survived my first week at Purchase =P. Here's a rundown of classes/other important things.
Monday/Thursday
Traditional China - seems like it will be pretty cool. Its an upper-level history class, and it involves getting used to another language a little, but its work and topics I'm interested in.
Journalism I - Snooze class. Seriously. So far, appears to be like the same class I took at Coby. *yawn* Oh well, at least it should be an easy grade.
Human Sexuality - Another looking like it'll be easy class. You know a class is gonna be amusing when the first thing you do in class is get into groups and have a competition over what group can come up with the most synonyms for penis and vagina. I kid you not XD. Doesn't hurt that there are two cute guys in the class sitting near me ^^; (one guy seriously looks like a younger version of the guy who plays[-ed, omg I am still sad that RENT closed] Roger in RENT on Broadway - aka guy in my Facebook profile pic).
Tuesday/Friday
Development of the US I - Introductory US history. Another snooze class. The only one I have in a lecture hall, but not all that huge. Professor is kind of a dinosaur, go fig for a history class.
Wednesday
Exoticism in Modern Art - I can tell this will be my hardest class, but at least it doesn't seem it'll be boring. And one of my roomies, Nicole, is in the class too - so I'll have someone to study with. Our first readings are mad WTF, and we're supposed to write a response to one of them and neither make much sense to me (hopefully they make a little more sense to Nicole). The topics seem interesting, so could be worse.
I'm also getting involved in The Independent, the weekly newspaper. I believe meetings are Mondays at 10 for writing, and Tuesday/Wednesday for layout and stuff. I forget things easily ^^. Def, def, def joining the Anime Club - Wednesday night meetings so far, and there will be another meeting time during the week added soon. I may have already found a travel buddy to got to actually NYAF with, yay! Considering joining the gaming club as well. And possibly the Art Club too, because that would help me get pieces to boost my portfolio and hopefully get me into the minor.
And of course, there has already been a bit of guy-related drama already, but that's kind of a given for me LOL. But at least the eye candy in my Monday class makes that not such a big deal anymore ^_~. Oh, and my roommate Arielle is a nutjob. Not the good kind of nutjob.
Because a Dashboard Confessional concert is on now on the Madison Square Garden channel, it reminds me. Wednesday is Mikey Day, and unrelated to Mikey Day because Mikey Day is a good day - I will likely end up crying at some point that day =P |

I am officially moved into my apartment at Purchase. I'm mostly settled in now, just have posters to put up and little stuff like that. Definitely like the environment more that at Coby. Though its kind of lonely at the moment, due to my roomies being out and not really knowing anybody here.

Someone who's the Associate Content Editor for this site called InsidePulse.com randomly messaged me on Facebook, and asked if I'd be interested in covering the show The Amazing Race for them. Totally taking that offer =).
This will be a fun way to keep me writing and practicing my journalisty stuff. It's going to be posting a few posts a week: after an episode ends, commentary, etc. And with me and my dad's heated rivalry with our reality shows, that should provide some interesting material.
